There are currently two types of teen volunteers at Bastrop Public Library, and we have openings for both kinds!

Weekly volunteers are assigned a day and a chunk of time (usually two hours) to come in and shelve books, prepare program materials, clean storytime toys, create booklists, and more. Weekly volunteers must be dependable, responsible, and good communicators. If you are unable to make your shift, you MUST communicate with Eva, the Teen Volunteer Coordinator. If you do not show twice, you will be asked to step down from your volunteer position so that someone else may volunteer on that day.

Special events volunteers are contacted as needed to help with library programs, events, and other “all hands on deck” activities. Eva will send out a message via Remind asking who is available and willing to help, and they will communicate back to express interest.

BOTH types of volunteers are required to fill out the Teen Volunteer Application form and get one non-family, non-friend reference.
