Meet the Team

Our Parks & Recreation staff is here to serve the community and make every experience enjoyable. From planning programs and events to keeping our parks safe and welcoming, our team is dedicated to helping you stay active, connected, and inspired.

Jason Alfaro, Director of Parks & Recreation

Jason brings more than 20 years of experience in Parks and Recreation and local government, with 15 years of those dedicated to serving the Bastrop community. He began his career with the City of Bastrop in July 2002 as a maintenance worker. Through his commitment and leadership, Jason was promoted to Parks Foreman in January 2007 and later advanced to Parks Superintendent in August 2012. Since then he has served as Parks and Recreation Director in cities across Texas, gaining valuable knowledge and expertise that he is bringing to Bastrop.

As a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional through the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), Jason is deeply committed to advancing the quality of Bastrop's parks and outdoor spaces.
