Bastrop Main Street Program

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Bastrop Main Street Program opened its doors in 2007 to help create more open doors for businesses in historic downtown Bastrop.

Tasked with ensuring our Main Street District remains the heart of Bastrop through historical preservation, community involvement and purposeful economic vitality, it is home to over 200 businesses and organizations in a 62 block area located in the heart of historic Bastrop.

The Main Street District of today is vastly different from when Bastrop began building the program. As the culture and values of our City change, the Main Street Program is committed to mirroring those changes to be a reflection of the authentic and unique nature of Bastrop.

So what’s different? Well for starters - our mission statement!

"The City of Bastrop Main Street Program, through community partnerships and grassroots community involvement, will be a stimulant for the economic health, design, and promotion of the historic Main Street District."

The statement now more accurately reflects the core of who we are and what we do, which is to continue protecting and preserving our historic downtown core for the next generation.

Now we want YOU to be a part of it all!

We are looking for passionate individuals who want to play a role in the future of the historic Main Street District. Being a Main Street Volunteer is a great way to meet new friends, have a ton of fun, and be the change you want to see in the world! Whether you have an afternoon or a lifetime, we would love to have you be a part of the adventure!

Interested in volunteering? Fill out the form below or if you have more questions, feel free to reach out to Main Street Manager Candice Butts.

Even if you can't find the time to volunteer, you can still promote our mission by Remember, small businesses need local support in order to survive and thrive! Stop in Downtown Bastrop and bring your co-workers for lunch, bring your significant other for date night, or find something one-of-a-kind from any of the unique shops!
