Welcome to the Bastrop Municipal Court

 

The Bastrop Municipal Court serves as the judicial branch of the City of Bastrop's local government. It handles the lowest-level criminal offenses under Texas law, including traffic violations, city ordinances cases, juvenile matters, and parking citations. Court services are available in person as well as through online platforms, telephone, email, and mail, providing flexible access for the public.

 

The Mission of the Bastrop Municipal Court of Record is to provide an accessible and fair legal forum where individuals can have their cases heard efficiently, while upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and customer service.

Presiding Municipal Judge

All persons entering the court are to be dressed appropriately. Halter/midriff tops,  sleeveless tops, tank tops, shirts with vulgar or obscene illustrations, soiled or torn clothing, flip-flops, and shorts are inappropriate.

Every person shall also obey the court rules and shall conduct himself or herself in a respectful and courteous manner. The bailiff can remove any person in violation of the dress code or who is being disruptive in court.

No children under the age of 10 allowed in courtroom unless part of the proceedings.
