NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE

CITY OF BASTROP ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS

The Zoning Board of Adjustments will conduct a public hearing Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 1311 Chestnut Street, Bastrop, Texas.

Consider and act on a request for a zoning variance from the Bastrop Building Block Code, Section 6.5.003, Building Standards per Place Type for the P5 Core zoning district, to allow an existing nonconforming lot to be subdivided into three lots to accommodate two new businesses on a portion of the existing parking lot. The resulting lots would exceed the district’s maximum impervious cover requirement of 65 percent, with proposed impervious cover percentages of approximately 88.6 percent, 64.3 percent, and 61.8 percent, respectively, with a collective impervious cover of approximately 82.8 percent. The property is located at 441 West State Highway 71, 5.8467 acres being Lot 2 out of Block A out of the Bastrop West Commercial Section 1 Subdivision.
