The Main Street Program Advisory Board provides guidance and support for the City of Bastrop’s Main Street Program, which focuses on downtown revitalization and economic development through a preservation-based approach. The Board helps set goals and priorities for the Main Street Program Area and advises the City Council, the Main Street Program Manager, and, as appropriate, the Bastrop Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors on strategies, projects, events, and initiatives that strengthen the economic vitality and character of the historic downtown. Responsibilities include coordinating standing and special committees and supporting downtown promotions and revitalization efforts.

Board members should have an interest in downtown vitality, historic preservation, small business support, and community engagement, with preferred experience in areas such as downtown business or property ownership, economic development, planning or design, marketing, or volunteer leadership. This is an active, working board that typically meets monthly and requires participation in committees, special projects, training opportunities, and downtown events, representing a meaningful time commitment beyond regular meetings
