2026 Special Local Option Election

November 3, 2026

The City of Bastrop will hold a Special Local Option Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages in certain areas that were annexed into the City after the City's 2005 Local Option Election.

Following the 2005 election, several areas were annexed into the City limits. Under Texas law, these areas retained their previous alcohol sales status and were not included in the authority established by the 2005 election. A separate Local Option Election is required to change the alcohol sales status of the affected annexed territory.

The election will allow qualified voters residing within the affected area to vote on the local option proposition.

Election Day:

Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Polls Open: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Early Voting by Personal Appearance

October 19–23: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

October 24: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

October 25: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

October 26–30: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The canvass of election results is tentatively scheduled for:

Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.

Election Proposition

The proposition will be submitted to the qualified voters residing in the affected area to determine whether the sale of alcoholic beverages should be permitted under the local option election.

"The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages"

Please note: Only qualified voters residing within the affected territory are eligible to vote on this proposition.
