The City of Bastrop is a rapidly growing community located 20 miles east of Austin, Texas with a census population of approximately 10,000 and daytime service population of approximately 20,000. The City of Bastrop Police Department has a full-time staff of 26 sworn police officers, 3 civilian support staff, an Evidence Technician, a Crime Victims Advocate, and 1 Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer. Our department is a cohesive, collaborative team of professionals dedicated to providing our community exceptional public service and possess a willingness and compassion to work together with the citizens of Bastrop to maintain a healthy and safe community.
