Kerry Fossler
Kerry is a master enthusiast of Bastrop who delights in unifying unlikely parties and encourages citizens to participate in local government to create the world they want to live in. Kerry graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northern Arizona University with a B.A. Degree in Speech Communications with an emphasis in Interpersonal & Intercultural Relations, and a Minor in Spanish. She’s been a real estate agent since 2018 with recognition from her colleagues for her community service.
Bastrop is booming! With so much outsider attention on developing all around the Lost Pines, Kerry ran for office to keep the local voices loud and clear and engaged in the development process. With a group of passionate residents, she is formulating the Good Neighbor Designation program; a citizen-driven platform that expresses Bastrop’s community values as 10 categories, and gives developers a list of voluntary actions to choose from for each category to earn their designation as a Good Neighbor Developer.
A more harmonious relationship is possible between developers, residents and the city. Developers want a consistent, predictable path through the development process, residents want thoughtful developments that reflect their values, and the city wants to inherit fiscally sustainable developments that are easy to maintain for generations to come. We can do this! And Kerry is working toward this.
Kerry lives in the North End of Bastrop with her husband Steve Fossler of Mina Forge Knives and their dogs Russ T. & Rosie Fossler. She can be found digging in the garden, flipping through a thesaurus, bicycling all around, taking a class at the Rec Center, studying CAD maps, or documenting nature’s lessons through her #DailyStroll musings.
