Born and raised in Bastrop, Perry Lowe has deep roots in the community. He and his wife—his best friend since high school—built their life right where it all began. Together, they raised their family in the same town that helped shape him. For Perry, Bastrop isn’t just a place to live—it’s home. It’s where he’s grown, built community, and dedicated himself to making a difference.
Perry felt called to serve on the Bastrop City Council as a voice for the people and a steward of Bastrop’s future. Having watched the city evolve over the years, he is passionate about ensuring that Bastrop’s growth is both inclusive and intentional. He believes in preserving the town’s unique charm while creating greater opportunities for families, local businesses, and future generations.
His vision for Bastrop centers on unity, sustainability, and thoughtful development. He advocates for investment in infrastructure, expanded support for local entrepreneurs, and establishing a permanent space for the city’s vibrant arts and entertainment community. Above all, he is committed to transparency, accessibility, and truly listening to the voices of Bastrop residents.
Outside of City Council, Perry is an accomplished musician and proud member of the Chubby Knuckle Choir. He spends his time writing and producing music, enjoying family life, and working on exciting new ventures—including launching his own community radio station after more than 20 years in the radio industry. He currently serves as a founding board member of the Bastrop Live Music Foundation and is active on the Bastrop Juneteenth Celebration Committee. He also contributed his insights as a member of the Parks and Recreation Department Parks Master Plan Steering Committee. Perry is passionate about community empowerment, lifelong learning, and creating spaces where everyone feels they belong.
