Here, you will find information on GIS, Mapping Resources, 911 Addressing and the Data Download Hub Site. The GIS Department supports a wide range of business processes from Engineering, Fire & Police Departments, Development Services, Public Works and the Public.

911 Addressing Information

To request a 911 Address for a residential or commercial property you will need to apply for a permit with the City of Bastrop Development Services MyGov collaboration system. The following information will be needed:

  • Property Owner Name, address, phone number and valid email
  • BCAD Property ID and the current legal description
  • Structure use like Office, Residential etc.
  • Site layout and building floor plan

Addressing Tips - For residential units the alphabet is used like Unit A, Unit B, and so on. Commercial units use numbers like Unit 1, Unit 2, and so forth. Apartments will need to be addressed as Building Number, Floor, and Unit number for example - 2103.

Street Naming Information

Street name(s) for new subdivisions can be reserved for one year by the subdivision plat applicant, property owner, or authorized agent upon a approved preliminary plat from the date of approval. If final platting does not occur in the one year time frame the street names will be null and void. Please consider the following guidelines when reviewing street names for reservation:

  • Current and reserved street names
  • Overused words such as Creek or Ranch
  • Proximity to a similar sounding street name
  • Street name spelling and or phonetic duplication
  • Existing streets in adjoining plats for continuity
  • Streets in adjoining plats not yet recorded for continuity
