Warrant Amnesty Program

 

The Bastrop Municipal Court will be closed Monday, March 2nd, 2026, in observance of Texas Independence Day. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026.

 

BASTROP MUNICIPAL COURT WARRANT AMNESTY PROGRAM

 

Tuesday March 3rd, 2026 to Tuesday March 31st, 2026 

 

Beginning Sunday, March 1st, 2026, more than 300 law enforcement agencies across Texas will be concentrating their efforts to arrest on warrants in what’s known as the Texas Statewide Warrant Roundup. The City of Bastrop Municipal Court of Record will be conducting a “Warrant Amnesty Program” from March 3rd, 2026 to March 31st, 2026 on all outstanding warrants pending before the Bastrop Municipal Court.

 

We encourage anyone with an outstanding warrant through our Court, to take this opportunity to save money and get a fresh start. Anyone that comes to the clerk’s office or appears at an open court hearing to take care of their outstanding warrants will be given safe harbor. When a citizen comes in voluntarily and either pays in full or pays a minimum of ½ the total amount due and starts a payment plan for the balance owed, all warrant fees will be waived. As an added incentive, anyone that pays in full will save an additional 75% off the fine amount. Anyone that pays half of their balance and places the remaining amount due on a payment plan may have an additional 50% of the fine waived, the remaining balance will be placed on payment plan of $50 a month until paid in full. The percentage savings is only on the fine, not the court costs, however.

 

Persons with outstanding warrants can avoid arrest by coming into the City of Bastrop Municipal Court at 104 Grady Tuck Lane, Bastrop, Texas, Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Fridays 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and making appropriate arrangements with the Court. No arrest will be made at the Court Office of individuals that voluntarily appear before the Court and makes a good faith effort to resolve the arrest warrant before the warrant is executed. If you are convicted of an offense and unable to pay the fine and court costs, you may have the court assess your ability to pay and the court may provide alternatives to full payment in satisfying the judgment.

 

The Bastrop Municipal Court will offer Open Court Hearings on the following dates and times:

Thursday, March 5th, 2026 – 9:00 a.m.

Thursday, March 12th, 2026 – 9:00 a.m.

Thursday, March 26th, 2026 – 9:00 a.m.

 

WARRANT AMNESTY PROGRAM STANDING ORDER: 2026 Warrant Amnesty Program Standing Order

To participate in the Bastrop Municipal Court Warrant Amnesty Program, please complete the "2026 Warrant Amnesty Program request form" and submit to the court by one of the following methods:

 

1) Email: bmc@cityofbastrop.org

2) Drop off to the court: 104 Grady Tuck Lane, Bastrop TX 78602 (Monday through Thursday - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or Fridays - 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, excluding holidays)

3) Mail: 104 Grady Tuck Lane, Bastrop, TX 78602

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

The Warrant Amnesty Program will not waive any portion of the court costs or collection fees.

This Program does not apply to any case that already has an existing agreement or judgment with the court.

If you are selecting the "Pay in full" option, the balance must be paid in full within 24 hours of request.

If you are selecting the "Payment plan" option, half of the balance must be paid within 24 hours of request.

 

Requirements of participating in the Warrant Amnesty Program:

1) Must enter a plea of either Guilty or No Contest

2) Understand that a conviction (declaration that you are guilty of a criminal offense) will be reported to the Department of Public Safety

3) Pay in full option requires payment in full within 24 hours of request, no exceptions

4) Payment plan option requires half of the balance be paid in full within 24 hours, non execptions
