Maker Days

Creation Station Area
All ages
Come learn about the library's new 3D printer and the vinyl cutter then try your hand at creating!  There will be instructions, software to use, training about the printer, and time to create projects.  Time does not allow for all projects to be printed on the day of the program.  However, all printable objects will be created and available for pick-up at a later time.  This program meets twice a month, 4th Monday and the 3rd Saturday.  Children under 8 must be supervised by an adult.
Tween Tuesdays 2nd Tuesday 4:30 - 5:30pm Pressley Meeting Room Ages:  10-13
Join us in a variety of activities as we navigate the tough years of middle school.  Together, we will build self-esteem, scavenge and find treasure, get creative with the 3D printer, craft awesome stuff, and hang out with other tweens.  This program meets once a month.
Lego Club 3rd Tuesday 3:00 - 4:30 pm Pressley Meeting Room All ages
We have the Lego's; you have the creativity!  Build what you want ot participate in our building challenges and group interactions.  Projects cannot be taken home, but we display them in the library for a month!  This programs meets once a month.  Children under 8 must be supervised by an adult.
Chess Club Ecery Wednesday 4:00 - 6:00 pm Creation Station Area
Ages:  10 and up
Love to play chess?  Want to learn chess?  Everyone 10 and up is welcome to join our new Chess Club!  Adults will be available to teach, guide, or challenge anyone interested in participating.  Boards will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own set, too.  This club meets three times a month.
Homeschool Class 2.0
1st Tuesday 2:00 - 3:30 pm Teen Room
Ages: 11-15
 Join Ms. Bethany in the Teen Room to explore a variety of topics through activities, videos, books and discussions.  Give it a try!
Youth Advisory Squad (YAS) 2nd Saturday 1:00 - 2:00 pm Maynard Conference Room Ages:  11-14
Do you love books?  do you want to have a hand in what's going on at the Bastrop Public Library?  Join the Youth Advisory Squad!  Each month, we do an activity that will directly impact the Bastrop Public Library and brainsorm how the library can be more t(w)een-friendly.  This group meets once a month.  Bonus:  You can earn volunteer hours!
