Deborah Jones
Deborah began school in Harrogate, England. In Jr High, Jones set track records, received State recognition for Science in High School, graduated on the Dean’s List from UT Austin with a BA of Economics. Husband, Michael Jones is owner of Gallery Films. Four children: Daniel (musician) and Kasey Ducloux (State Certified Appraiser). Steven (Barnett Electric) and Dominique Barnett (Director of Jones Square and appraiser trainee). Seth Jones, A&M Galveston, recipient of Naval contract. Hanan Jones, Bastrop HS, 2015/2016 State football champion at Veritas Academy.
Mrs. Jones has lived in the City of Bastrop for over three decades. She has seen Bastrop grow from a quaint little town into the vibrant city that it is today. Her connection to this community runs deep. As a local businesswoman, she works as a nationally recognized rural appraiser and covers over 14,000 square miles which includes 10 surrounding counties. Her day to day business revolves around complex assignments which demand thorough, accurate, and factual evaluations subject to many participants, often with differing agendas. Her work is about bringing people together.
As a family, The Jones’ agreed the time was now for her to serve the Bastrop community. The foundation of her contributions is to deal with the facts at hand in a professional and respectful manner.
Her experience from working in the surrounding communities and understanding the issues we all face in a rapidly changing environment underscores her qualifications to be a reasonable and responsible part of the Bastrop City Council. She believes we need to take care of our city's business (water, drainage, roads and Infrastructure) in a way that insures the future for ALL our citizens.
