Water System Overview
The City of Bastrop’s Water and Wastewater Department manages a water distribution service of over 10 square miles and serves a population of approximately 8,700 people.  We provide quality drinking water to our customers through a network of approximately 68 miles of transmission and distribution lines and 2,867 service connections.The City utilizes ground water for its’ public water supply and has developed its’ own production facilities.  We currently have 7 ground water wells located near the Colorado River which withdraw water from an alluvium of the river.

Total Main Distribution Lines:  361,286 feet.  (68 miles!)

The City also operates and maintains 1,030 flush valves, 501 fire hydrants and 101 flush sites.
