Sentencing is based on the following grid, but may include optional or additional sentences. It is mandatory that all defendants attend a decision making class that a licensed family counselor conducts twice a month at Teen Connections. CLASS 1: 8-22 community service hours; 1 jury termsNo seat belt; No helmet Equipment violation; Unlawful riding Parking citation; Anti-noise violation No Class "C" license (moped) CLASS 2: 18-32 community service hours; 2 jury termsImpeding traffic; Driving across median Parking citation (handicapped/ fire lain) No driver's license Class "C" driver's license violation Running red light or stop sign Failure to yield right-of-way Speeding 15 miles over posted limit No Class "M" license (motorcycle) Passing on the wrong side CLASS 3: 28-42 community service hours; 3 jury termsCollision; No car insurance Speeding 16-24 miles over limit in school zone Minor in possession of tobacco Trespassing Violation of day or night juvenile curfew law CLASS 4: 38-52 community service hours; 3 jury termsCriminal mischief (under $20.00) Disruption of class; Disruption of transportation Failure to attend school (truancy) Minor in possession of alcohol Minor in consumption of alcohol Racing/ contest of speed (vehicular) Speeding 24-40 miles over posted limit Misdemeanor Theft (under $50.00) Use of tobacco product CLASS 5: 52-64 community service hours; 3 jury termsAssault by threat or contact Driving under the influence Disorderly conduct (verbal or fighting) Evading police Possession of drug paraphernalia Public intoxication Speeding 40+ miles over limit Speeding 20+ miles over limit in school zone
