McKinney Roughs Summer Camp Program 2008

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
$165 per child
$25 Early Drop Off (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.) / $25 Late Pick Up (4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

As part of the City of Bastrop's summer recreation program, in conjunction with the Colorado River Foundation, the City will give away 30 one-week summer camp passes to McKinney Roughs Summer Camp Program.

  • Applicants between the ages of 6 and 12 years
  • Participation is limited to children living within the City limits of Bastrop - City property owner's taxes fund this program
  • Complete the application form and submit it along with your proof that the child resides within the City limits:
    • In person at 1209 Linden Street
      Monday through Friday: 7am-11:30am & 1pm-3:30pm

  • Applications must be received no later than Monday, March 31, 2008. Scholarships will be awarded by a drawing to be held the following week, and winners will be notified shortly thereafter. Information packets for the camps will be mailed by McKinney Roughs to said winners prior to the start date. If a winner needs to cancel, please notify Amanda Phillips at (512) 321-3957 or (512) 303-7035 immediately so that another applicant can be substituted.

Camp Comanche: Ages 8 to 9 (each week)

  • outdoor exploration
  • wilderness skills
  • swimming
  • rock wall climbling
  • river rafting
  • science & nature activities

Camp Caddo: Ages 10 to 12 (each week)

  • outdoor exploration
  • studies of geology, hydrology, botany, etc.
  • river rafting
  • swimming
  • high ropes challenge course (promotes team building & personal challenges experiences)
