McMillan encouraged any Bastrop citizens who might be interested in attending Academy classes to call the Police Department at 321-5550.
Ken McMillan was also honored by Chief Board with a plaque for his dedication and support while serving as Vice President of the BCPAAA.
Bastrop Police Chief David L. Board presented a plaque to Ricardo Ruiz commending his service as President of the Bastrop Citizens Police
Academy Alumni Association
for the past two years. During Ruiz's tenure the membership grew in numbers and several successful fund-raisers helped to fund a scholarship for a Bastrop High School senior. Money was also raised to help the Police Department with
equipment purchases.Police Academy Alumni Give Contribution
At the January 20th, 2004 meeting of the Bastrop Police Department Citizens Police Academy Alumni, members Roger and Jannell Richards presented Chief David Board with a check for $500.00. The Police Academy Alumni Membership voted to contribute the funds to assist the department with their crime prevention programs.
