City of Bastrop Drug Enforcement Facts for 2006:

  • Officers arrested 130 individuals for possession of illegal drugs.
  • Of the 130 drug related arrests (6) Six occurred at Bastrop High School.
  • The Department’s Drug Dog “Kilo” was instrumental in 14 separate drug arrests.
  • Officers seized and the courts forfeited three vehicles used to transport felony amounts of drugs.
  • Officers seized approximately $3,000 in cash derived from the sales of drugs.
  • An additional $731.00 has been seized and is pending forfeiture.
  • Officers executed four felony search warrants for illegal drugs.
  • The majority of all drug-related arrests occur by patrol officers during traffic stops.
  • The most valuable resource we have available to combat drugs in our community is “Citizens” working hand in hand with “Law Enforcement.”
