Detective Tamera
Brown
I am Officer Tamera
Brown, born and raised in Bastrop. I am a graduate of Bastrop
High School and received my certification as a paralegal. Years
later I wanted a career change. I began that new career in law
enforcement in 1997 with the City of Bastrop Police Department.
My first position was records clerk for the department. During
that time I developed a strong interest in being a police officer.
The City of Bastrop paid my tuition through the Capitol Area Law
Enforcement Regional Training Academy in 1999. In 2000, I received
my certification as a police officer and then commissioned by
the Bastrop Police Department. I worked in the patrol division
for two years and in August of 2002; I was given the wonderful
opportunity to become a school resource officer. I made a lateral
move into the school resource officer position and I am currently
assigned to the high school campuses.
I am planning with purpose, preparing with prayer, proceeding
positively in persistent pursuit of my goals and I am blessed
with the strength of God.
