AN
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BASTROP, TEXAS RESCINDING
PRIOR CITY ORDINANCE NO. 2006-9, WHICH RESTRICTED LEFT TURNS FROM
CHESTNUT STREET INTO ALLEY "A" AND ALLEY "B,"
AND, FROM ALLEY "A" AND ALLEY "B" ONTO CHESTNUT
STREET; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS RESCINDING ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS,
after further evaluation and consideration, the City Council of the
City of Bastrop has recognized that there is no longer a need for
certain changes to occur to Section 10.409 of the City Code, as such
changes were stated and approved by the Council in City Ordinance
Number 2006-9, to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the public
using the roads and streets in the City of Bastrop, Texas.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BASTROP, THAT:
Part 1: The previously
approved and adopted City Ordinance No. 2006-9, is hereby formally
rescinded in all respects, and, further, the terms of Ordinance No.
2006-9 shall have no further legal effect within the City of Bastrop,
Texas.
Part 2: This Ordinance,
rescinding previously adopted Ordinance No. 2006-9 becomes effective
in accordance with the terms and provisions of the City's Charter
and State law.
READ and Acknowledged
on First Reading on the 12th day of December 2006.
READ and Adopted on Second Reading on the 9th day of January 2007.
