AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
APPENDIX "A," ARTICLE 7.000 OF THE BASTROP CODE OF ORDINANCES
REGARDING UTILITY RELATED FEES REVISING UTILITY CHARGES AND CALCULATION
METHODS FOR ALL RATE CLASSIFICATIONS, PROVIDING IMPROVED DESCRIPTIONS;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Bastrop,
Texas recognizes a need to revise its electrical rates to reflect
current cost to the City
WHEREAS,
the City Council of the City of Bastrop, Texas has determined that
in order to efficiently pass through the City's wholesale power costs;
and
WHEREAS,
the City Council of Bastrop determined that Sec. 7.700 "Residential
Electric Rates", Sec. 7.800 "Commercial Electric Rates",
Sec. 7.900 "Key Account Rates" and Sec. 7.100 "Municipal
Rates" of Article 7.000 "Utility Related Fees" in APPENDIX
A should be revised to reflect the revision in the wholesale power
cost to the City from LCRA; and
WHEREAS,
in order to enact these revisions it is necessary to amend the Bastrop
Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, Article 7.000, et. seq., "Utility
Related Fees;" as shown herein below.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BASTROP, TEXAS:
PART 1:
That the Bastrop City Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, Article 7.000,
"Utility Related Fees," shall be amended to reflect an adjustment
in the City's residential, commercial, key account and municipal electric
rates and charges as shown on the attached Exhibit "A, "
which exhibit is incorporated herein as reference as if set forth
in full.
PART 2:
That all ordinances, resolutions and orders heretofore passed, adopted
and made, or any part of the same, affecting rates and charges for
residential and commercial electric rates of the City of Bastrop,
which are in conflict with this Ordinance, shall be, and the same
are hereby, in all things repealed to the extent that the same conflict
with this Ordinance, or with the laws of the State of Texas.
PART 3:
This Ordinance shall take effect upon the date of final passage noted
below in accordance with the City's Charter, Code of Ordinances, and
the laws of the State of Texas.

reflect the amounts charged the City by its power provider that is

fee schedule, Appendix A. This calculation will be made by the City
on an ongoing basis, from month to month, and the Generation Charge
passed through to the consumer will be based on the City's cost.]
Generation Charge is equal to the total charges billed by the City's
wholesale power provider divided by the total KWH measured/metered
by all customers except "Key Account Customers" for the
ensuing month times the electric consumption for each customer.
