AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY OF BASTROP CODE OF ORDINANCES
"APPENDIX A: FEE SCHEDULE; ARTICLE 2.000, ET SEQ." RELATING
TO FEES FOR ANIMAL PERMITS, ADOPTION, IMPOUNDMENT AND ANIMAL CONTROL;
SETTING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF SAME; REQUIRING PUBLICATION OF
THE ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, under the authority granted by and the provisions
of the Constitution of and laws of the State of Texas, and the Home
Rule Charter of the City of Bastrop, as heretofore and hereafter amended,
owners of animals within the corporate limits of the City of Bastrop,
Texas, are required to comply with the Animal Control Ordinance of
the City, City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, and amendments thereto
for the public health, safety and general welfare of the citizenry
of the community, and to pay fees, costs and penalties associated
with animal ownership and other animal control related
fees and costs.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BASTROP,TEXAS:
PART 1: That Appendix
A, FEES, related to Chapter 2, Article 2.000, et seq. of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Bastrop, Texas, concerning "Animal
Control Related Fees," is hereby amended to read as shown on
Attachment A, appended hereto.
PART 2: Any provisions
of Article 2.000 of Appendix A, FEES, of the Code of the City of Bastrop
that are not amended hereby shall remain in full force and effect.
PART 3: Inasmuch
as this Ordinance could result in penalties and fines, this Ordinance
shall be published in the Bastrop Advertiser in accordance with the
requirements of Section 52.011 (a) of the Texas Local Government Code.
The City Secretary shall obtain an affidavit of such publication from
the printer or publisher of the
newspaper.
PART 4: This Ordinance
shall take effect upon the date of final passage noted below, or when
all applicable hearing and publication requirements, if any, are satisfied
in accordance with the City's Charter, Code of Ordinances, and the
laws of State of Texas.
