AN ORDINANCE
ORDERING A CHANGE IN THE ZONING MAP ACCOMPANYING CHAPTER 12 OF THE BASTROP
CITY CODE, AS AMENDED, TO SO CHANGE THE ZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT
1910-2000 JASPER FROM "SF-7" - SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL AND
C-2 COMMERCIAL 2 DISTRICT (HEAVY) TO C-1 COMMERCIAL 1 DISTRICT (LIGHT);
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BASTROP:
Part 1: That, in the interest of public welfare and health
and safety, Chapter 12, Exhibit "A" of the Code of the City
of Bastrop, known as the Zoning Ordinance be and is hereby, amended
so as to change the zoning of a 5.5 acre parcel of land, located at
1910-2000 Jasper Street, Bastrop, Texas being a portion of Building
Blocks 124 and 125, and portions of unopened Newton and Madison Street
from C-2 Commercial (Heavy) and a portion of Building Blocks 140 and
141 from SF-7 Single Family Residential, to C-1 Commercial (Light),
said tract being shown on the area map attached hereto as Exhibit
"B".
Part 2: That the Planning & Zoning Commission met on October
10`h, 2002, and upon considering this change in zoning, recommended
approval of C-1 zoning for the entire 5.5 acre parcel.
Part 3: At the City Council public hearing on October 22,
2002, Council directed that a SF-7 Single Family Residential buffer
be retained along Jasper Street and that Exhibit "B" is
modified to reflect this change.
Part 4: That the Official Zoning Map, accompanying Chapter
12, Exhibit "A", Zoning Ordinance of the City of Bastrop
City Code be and is hereby changed to record the amendment enacted
by this Ordinance.
Part 5: That notice having been given, and public hearing
held, this Ordinance shall take effect upon passage and approval,
and as provided by law.
READ AND ACKNOWLEDGED on FIRST READING on 22nd day of October 2002.
READ AND ADOPTED on SECOND READING on 26th day of November 2002.
