Monty Blackmon, City of Bastrop Public Works Director, was named 2002 Citizen of the Year at the Chamber of Commerce 65th Annual Banquet. He was chosen for the significant contributions he has made to the quality of life in Bastrop. Monty gives his time and talent to many projects and organizations within the community. Many of the projects he has been involved in, such as, "Clean Sweep", "Sidewalk of the Stars Handprints Project" and "Bastrop's River of Lights" are highlighted on this web site.

The City of Bastrop is proud to recognize Public Works Director, Monty Blackmon for this outstanding accomplishment.
