Bastrop Texas Main Street Program

The Main Street Program is downtown revitalization within the context of historic preservation.

Main Street Bastrop is a Department within the City of Bastrop with a full-time Director and a staff of volunteers.

A dramatic revitalization is happening in downtown Bastrop.  This is an ongoing process and one that will be exciting to watch – each change and each improvement destined to be a part of future generations.

The Bastrop Main Street Program swings into summer...and is ready/set/going to accomplish great things this year!   We need your help in pointing the direction and sustaining the immense momentum that the BMSP has achieved in only four+ years.  We can't do it without YOU so...

§  Get involved with a Standing Committees.

The BMSP is an all-volunteer army that accomplishes its work through four standing committees (with a volunteer advisory board assisting in coordination).   Each of the four committees meets monthly to advance the program in accordance with the annually updated strategic plan, and each welcomes new members.  Come, observe and join a committee that speaks to your interests.

Meetings during the summer are as follows:

Fourth Thursday (monthly)     Promotions Committee, 5:30 p.m. in the Visitor Center  (Chaired by Cindye Wolford)

Last Wednesday (monthly)      Organization Committee, noon in the Chamber of Commerce Conference Room (Chaired by Shawn Pletsch)

Third Thursday (monthly)      Design Committee, 5 p.m. in the Visitor Center (Chaired by Dan Hays-Clark)

Third Friday (monthly)      Economic Restructuring Committee, 8:00 a.m. in the Chamber of Commerce Conference Room (Chaired by Debbie Moore)

For further information about these committees and their work, contact Nancy Wood, mainstreet@cityofbastrop.org  or (512) 332-0068.
