a citation, you must appear in person with your parent or legal
guardian.

ARTICLE 45.057,
THE CHILD AND PARENT ARE ENTITLED TO WRITTEN NOTICE OF THEIR
OBLIGATION UNDER SUBSECTIONS (H) AND (I) OF ARTICLE 45.057,
CODE OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE. THE SUBSECTION READS AS FOLLOWS:
(H) A CHILD AND PARENT REQUIRED TO APPEAR BEFORE THE COURT HAVE
AN OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE THE COURT IN WRITING WITH THE CURRENT
ADDRESS AND RESIDENCE OF THE CHILD. THE OBLIGATION DOES NOT
END WHEN THE CHILD REACHES AGE 17. ON OR BEFORE THE SEVENTH
DAY AFTER THE DATE THE CHILD OR PARENT CHANGES RESIDENCE, THE
CHILD OR PARENT SHALL NOTIFY THE COURT OF THE CURRENT ADDRESS
IN THE MANNER DIRECTED BY THE COURT. A VIOLATION OF THIS SUBSECTION
MAY RESULT IN ARREST AND IS A CLASS C MISDEMEANOR. THE OBLIGATION
TO PROVIDE NOTICE TERMINATES ON DISCHARGE AND SATISFACTION OF
THE JUDGEMENT OR FINAL DISPOSITION NOT REQUIRING A FINDING OF
GUILT. (I) IF AN APPELLATE COURT ACCEPTS AN APPEAL FOR A TRIAL
DE NOVO, THE CHILD AND PARENT SHALL PROVIDE THE NOTICE UNDER
SUBSECTION (H) TO THE APPELLATE COURT.
This notice is furnished to you by the Municipal
Court of the City of Bastrop, Texas, to assist you in making
a decision on the charge(s) filed against you. ALL MINOR
IN POSSESSION charges require parent accompaniment.
IF YOU FAIL TO RESPOND TO THE CHARGE(S) BY THE APPEARANCE
DATE SHOWN ON THE CITATION, AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE WILL BE FILED
AGAINST YOU FOR FAILURE TO APPEAR OR VIOLATION OF PROMISE TO
APPEAR AND WARRANTS ISSUED FOR YOUR ARREST.
IF YOU WISH TO ENTER A PLEA OF GUILTY OR NOLO
CONTENDERE, please indicate this decision in the proper
space below. A plea of Nolo Contendere means that you do not
contest the State’s charge(s) against you. Entering either
plea below indicates that you agree to waive appearance before
the Court for trial and agree to pay the fine stated on the
reverse side of this notice.
IF YOU WISH TO ENTER A PLEA OF NOT GUILTY AND
DESIRE A TRIAL, please indicate this decision in the proper
space below. The court will send you a notice of the trial date
within 2 weeks. If you have not heard from the clerk within
a month, please contact her.
If you wish to appear in court, you may do so Monday and Tuesday
at 1:00 P.M. (Phone calls do not constitute an appearance.)
Under the laws of the State of Texas, you may be able to require
that this charge be dismissed by taking a driving safety course.
HOWEVER, YOU WILL LOSE THAT RIGHT If you do NOT provide
written notice to the Court on or before your appearance date
(as shown on your Citation) of your desire to do so. (Please

*Warning: Person fails to pay or satisfy a
judgment ordering the payment of a fine and cost in the manner
ordered by the Court, the person may be denied renewal of the
person’s Driver’s License.
