Happy Holidays, Bastrop!

Christmas decorations in front of the Old Iron Bridge on Loop 150.

Public Works Director Monty Blackmon had an imaginative idea this year for the holidays. Rendering designs from a catalog of Christmas images, Mr. Blackmon and crew created these sparkling ornaments to make our downtown festive. Fidencio Lopez, Public Works Shop Foreman, constructed the ornament frames from welded rebar. Then Fidencio and co-worker Boyd Perdue finished them with colorful garlands and lights. Altogether, they made 25 decorations, including candles, bells, snowflakes, trees, and Christmas stockings. See how many you can find downtown, on the riverwalk, or by the old iron bridge!
