Sidewalk of Stars Handprints Project


On March 20, 2003, Monty Blackmon, Director of Public Works, Violet John and Susan Wendel with the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce went to Smithville's RiverBend Park to see a performance of Asleep at the Wheel and to get handprints from frontman Ray Benson. Mr. Blackmon's wife, Rosalie, and Mr. John also came along for the show. The concert was a benefit for the Texas Education Center.
