NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
Bastrop City Council
April 30,  2008       7:30 P.M.

Pursuant to the Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, the City Council of Bastrop, Texas will hold a Special  Meeting on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bastrop City Hall Council Chambers, 904 Main Street, Bastrop, Texas to consider the following matters:

1. Call to Order.

2. Discussion and possible action regarding a request from Allied Waste Services to extend the solid waste collection and disposal contract between the City of Bastrop and Allied Waste Services for an additional seven years.

3. Discussion and possible action concerning a request from the River Valley Farmers Market to discuss with the Mayor and City Council the current Farmers Market operation in the City of Bastrop.

4. Discussion and possible action regarding authorizing the City Manager to enter into a lease agreement with the 1832 Farmers Market to lease City property generally located at 1302 Chestnut Street.

5. Remarks by outgoing Council Members of the Bastrop City Council. 

6. City Manager informational update report
            A.  Items for update, discussion and possible action:
                        1.  Update on Bastrop Village Wastewater Agreement
                        2.  Community Development Block Grant for the Young Subdivision.
                        3.  Meeting with Mr. Tom Mason, General Manager of L.C.R.A.
                        4.  Update on the South Pecan Street Public Improvements Project.
                        5.  Texas Municipal League Workshop on “Tourism:  Thinking Through                               the Development of a Regional Plan.”
                        6.  Update on Water Well Project.
                        7.  Status of Thoroughfare Plan.
                        8.  Lease of City property to the Bastrop Youth Football Association.
                        9.  Inviting input from Council related to issues for possible inclusion on                              future agenda, related to issues such as (but not limited to) municipal                              projects, personnel, public property, development and other                              City/public business.

7. EXECUTIVE SESSION:  The Bastrop City Council will meet in a closed/executive session pursuant to the Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Section 551.087 (Deliberation Regarding Economic Development Negotiations); Section 551.071(1)(A) and Section 551.071(2) (Consultations with Attorney); and Section 551.074 (Personnel Matters) to discuss the following:

                        1.  Deliberation Regarding Economic Development Negotiations.
                        2.  Consultations with Attorney:  Matters upon which the attorney has a                              duty and/or responsibility to report to the governmental body.
                        3.  Personnel Matters - City Manager.

8. The Bastrop City Council will reconvene into open session to discuss, consider and/or take any actions necessary related to the executive session.
