Sidewalk of Stars Handprints Project

Making his mark in Bastrop - Gov. Rick Perry makes a set of hand prints one afternoon during a visit to Bastrop in September. Texas Gov. Rick Perry became the 45th celebrity to leave a set of hand prints for future use in a walk of the stars in Bastrop.

The governor, who spoke briefly to a packed community room at First National Bank, also received a symbolic key to the city from May Tom Scott.

Perry, on his way back to Austin from speaking to high school seniors in Victoria, focused his remarks on legislative attempts to open higher education to more students and to speed the pace of highway building and repair.
